Portable digital pianos can be the perfect and relatively inexpensive solution for your piano needs but it’s important to know that some of them are good and some of them not so good. It depends on the brand, model, and how that portable piano was made. Most portable digital pianos (also known as portable electric pianos) have optional stand and triple pedal system that you can buy so that the portable piano looks more like a compact cabinet model and is also more sturdy and will not shake around on a portable metal stand that you otherwise would need if you did not buy the optional furniture stand. The traditional furniture triple pedal is a good choice although not absolutely necessary to play piano since a good single sustain pedal will likely work fine for awhile.
